Free Reg is a wonderful site where gradually the work of volunteers transcribing Parish Registers is added. Roots Chat
is also very useful, there are sections for each County but the Lincolnshire section is especialy good. Post a query and before
you know it there many helpful answers. These sites are Free.
The IGI is also free, but be careful with anything
other than a transcribed batch. Records which have been submitted are usually noted as such but be wary of the accuracy of
them. The Hugh Wallis site identifies which Parish Records are available and is particularly useful if you want to look at
one place in particular. The site however is not up to date and it is worth checking the IGI to see if there are recent additions.
I believe it is the intention of the IGI to gradually add all of the records they hold at UTAH but currently many Parishes
are not included and indeed there are also omissions for the Parishes that are there.
Ancestry, Find my Past and
Scotlands People are all pay per view sites. However, most libraries give free access to Ancestry. If you are wary of using
a Credit Card to access these sites, it is useful to get a cash card for these transactions. You can also purchase Vouchers.
